Sue is an independent consultant in solution-focused practice in schools after working most of her career as a teacher.  She began specialising in behaviour support in the early 1990s and later became anti-bullying coordinator and behaviour support manager for the city of Kingston upon Hull, in the North of England.  Sue’s project on promoting friendship for classes in the local primary schools featured in the national educational press and UNESCO’s education newsletter. Her support group approach to bullying was included in UK government guidance to schools and has since been practiced successfully throughout the world. She participated in the first two on-line training courses given by Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, the founders of the solution-focused approach.  Since becoming independent in 2007, she has collaborated closely with other leading practitioners in England, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands and has given workshops and training in many parts of the world – in the USA & Canada, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Japan and Korea, as well as Europe.
